Samenvatting
De film vertelt het verhaal van Rainbow Randolph (Williams), de corrupte ster van een populair kinderprogramma op TV. Hij wordt ontslagen vanwege een omkoopschandaal, en wordt vervangen door de vriendelijk pluizige paarse neushoorn Smoochy (Norton). Terwijl Smoochy steeds populairder wordt, is hij meerdere malen het doel van de pogingen tot wraak van Randolph, die zijn status van lieveling van het land terug wil.Credits
