Samenvatting
De succesvolle maar neurotische producer van een nieuwszender Jane Craig wordt verliefd op de aantrekkelijke nieuwkomer en charmeur Tom Grunick. De laatste blijkt al gauw het prototype van de journalist te zijn die het nieuws brengt alsof het een grote entertainmentshow is. Ondanks haar weerzin tegen het gebrek aan ethiek en integriteit bij Tom wordt Jane verliefd op hem. Zij weet echter niet dat een andere collega en goede vriend, verslaggever Aaron Altman, op zijn beurt weer verliefd op haar is.
