Samenvatting
De tijd van de depressie. Cecilia is een bekende in de bioscoop en de nieuwe film Purple Rose of Cairo is zo mooi dat ze de volgende dag met haar zus weer gaat. Tegen de tijd dat ze de vijfde keer gaat, ziet de hoofdrolspeler haar in de zaal zitten, hij stapt uit de film en gaat met haar de stad in. De echte acteur is bang dat zijn rol zijn reputatie zal schaden en de bioscoop kan niet draaien zonder de hoofdrol. De rol geeft haar echter een lichtpuntje in donkere tijden, ook al is ze dan getrouwd.Credits
